Dividing into Ratios

To split a value into a specified ratio we first find the total number of parts. The total number of parts is the sum of the numbers in the ratio. Each ratio can then be rewritten as a common fraction where the ratio is the numerator and the total number of parts is the denominator. The value to be split can then be multiplied by each fraction to determine the amount allocated to each ratio.
